Vinson named finalist for Mobile & Apps in third annual Lovie Awards

The Vinson mobile OTT solution is named finalist for the annual Lovie Awards in the category Best Media Streaming Service: Tablet.The Lovie Awards is presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), and is the leading European award honouring excellence in the digital industry. Vinson is also nominated for the People’s Lovie that will be selected by the online community through a public vote that is open until October 10.

Vinson makes mobile TV even more social with the launch of some brand new app features at the upcoming IBC in Amsterdam. Vinson introduces new ways to share TV moments and reveals a ‘like’ feature that is integrated with the program timeline. The extended social set of features for the white label app will be celebrated in style, with likeable demos at the Vinson stand in IBC Connected World, Hall 14. For the unfortunates who can’t make it to the event, Vinson will soon update the showcase app that is available in the App Store.

The ConnectedWorld.TV Awards 2013 has announced Vinson as one of their finalists. The white-label mobile TV solution that was introduced early 2013 is shortlisted for 'Best Content Platform of the Year'. The award acknowledges the contribution being made by management platforms that enable broadcasters and content service providers to create new and differentiated propositions and make them available to the market. The judges have looked at different factors, such as the functionality and flexibility of platform, the number and scale of deployments and its achieved success.

Belgian broadcasters VRT, VMMa and SBS Belgium today announced that their joint mobile TV application Stievie will be made available to all Belgians by this year. Stievie was launched as a large-scale pilot late February and 98 percent of the people who tested the app is enthusiastic. The findings also reveal that the Flemish testers consider Stievie a modern way of watching television and especially appreciate the usability of the platform that is powered by Vinson.

The mobile TV application N24 nexT that Vinson provides for Germany's leading news channel N24 has received outstanding ratings and reviews. The iOS app was released mid June and became the number one download in the German App Store. A few weeks later it counts already more than 500 five star ratings and many reviews that praise the interface, usability and overall user experience of watching N24's content through the new mobile app. The N24 nexT app has not gone unnoticed by Apple, that provided a top recommendation in the App Store where it is marked New and Noteworthy and selected as 'Unser Tipp'.
