Probably it's one of the first times that an app was discussed in a Parliament, when Belgian politics made the Stievie mobile TV application the topic of a debate. Stievie is the result of a collaboration by three Belgian (Flemish) broadcasters, both public and private, in order to provide an innovative, new television experience. Stievie currently runs as a trial for 10,000 users to test.
The joint application Stievie by VRT, VMMa and SBS Belgium enables live and on-demand viewing of their ten TV channels, up to broadcasts 36 hours before. The application for iPhone and iPad has been developed by Vinson and was recently launched as a trial. Out of more than 70,000 Flemings that signed up for it, a representative group of 10,000 was selected for to test the application for a few months. User feedback has been great so far and Stievie even got highlighted by the Belgian politics, as topic of a debate in the Flemish Parliament. Have a look at the video for a summary:
